How to Send Money by Phone
What you need:

> Land-based home telephone
> Visa®, MasterCard® or Switch® card
> Receiver's name and location


     

1. Call Western Union From the UK, call our free phone number 0800 833 833
(7 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily). We do not accept transactions initiated outside of the UK1.

2. Provide transfer information Provide the operator your Receiver's information and the amount you want to send2.
3. Pay for your transfer Give the operator your UK-issued Visa®, MasterCard® or Switch® card number3.
4. Write down your Money Transfer Control Number (MTCN) Write down the MTCN and share it with your Receiver. It may be required by the Agent for your Receiver to pick up the money.

You may also use the MTCN to track the status of your money transfer online or by calling us at the free phone number above.

1 Money transfers by phone cannot be made from mobile or public telephones.

3Some credit or debit card transactions may take longer to verify and require Western Union to call the sender back.
